HOLISTIC
COUNSELLING.
So much
of how the mind, the brain and the body’s behaviours interrelate is still
unexplored territory. In recent years, developments in technology such a
THE
CONSCIOUS MIND
Is
defined as our ‘day to day’ sensory input on a conscious or ‘knowing’
level. It is how we make sense of the
world around us based on our experience, perception and understanding.
THE
SUBCONSCIOUS MIND
This is
the aspect of ourselves that has been programmed in the past. This is an
automatic part of our day to day responses, whereby old and deep seated patterns
are run and re-run without us necessarily being aware of them. They can have
certain triggers which will set up a programmed response on a mental, emotional
or physical level within our lives.
THE
SUPERCONSCIOUS MIND.
This
has often be referred to as the ‘Higher self’
or ‘Over self’ and if you are
not aware of who this is – let me introduce you… It is the little voice
within… your intuition, that
sense of yourself that if you don’t listen to it – you regret it!
It is a guiding sense and is responsible for all of those chance meetings
and events and synchronicities that have proved with ‘value added hindsight’
to have been so special in your life,
HOW
WE LEARN
When we
young (aged 0-7) we are learning most of what we need to take us on our journey
throughout life – for good or bad. When we have an experience, there are
neurotransmitters which make certain connections in the brain – certain neural
pathways are formed that take a particular route. When an experience is repeated
many times, or if it is a particularly traumatic experience,
it can make a deeper routed pathway
- (some are like grass trodden footpaths and others are like thundering
great motorways). This all depends on the intensity, quality and frequency of
the initial experience that we have. All
of this input results in us shaping a particular response when we experience
that same or similar situation in the future. We perceive the new experience
through the eyes of the previous experience. It’s a little bit like that
saying - “Looking at the world
through rose coloured spectacles” – but sometimes they are not all that
rosy! We perceive the new through
the baggage of the old. This shapes where we go from here. And so the pattern is
formed.
We
believe what we perceive,
We
perceive what we experience,
We
experience what we create..
This
represents a place where all the
aspects of our self can meet in true respect for each other. The physical self,
which is a manifestation and reflection of all the experiences, beliefs, actions
and attitudes experienced to date. The emotional self which is the fuel in the
tank of our physical vehicle, that takes through life, This is the way we feel
about ourselves, others and our internal and external world. The mental self,
which is the foundation of our belief system, our values, our programming and
what we have learned so far. Our spiritual self which is the prime mover
throughout life, the raison d’etre, our life’s purpose and personal
evolution.
COUNSELLING
Counselling
empowers the individual to find their own answers in response to their own
questions. It is non – judgmental and will only lead the individual as far as
they want to travel on that particular journey. It is a supported therapy with
an experienced therapist who can assist the client in their own particular
process.
HOLISTIC
COUNSELLING USING UNIVERSAL FREQUENCY THERAPY.
This is
a pioneering technique that takes our healing relationship with nature to a new
dimension. The client is guided
through a set of beautiful nature photographs and selects whichever appeals to
them the most. By using a technique which is a cross between the old Rorschach
ink blot pictures and the more recent magic eye images (where you stare into a
picture with a soft focus and allow the picture within to come to the fore).
Pictures
reveal themselves within pictures and sometimes change before your very eyes as
‘beings’ can appear with messages, gifts and scenarios that you speak
through to your therapist. Notes
are taken by your therapist as you
move forward through the experience and at the end of the session these are read
back to you as you relate to your experience.
Further
pictures can be chosen which correlate to natural essences that you sit and hold
whilst relating your experience. This
assists you in assimilating your messages and experience from within and
actually re-shaping the way you view certain
events, or aspects of your life. So that you may see things in a new light!
This technique is available for adults and children .
